A Healey Barn Wedding in Northumberland
Hiyaaa, Oh man, I have this stunning Healey Barn Wedding for you guys to check out!
So August was the start of one of my busiest months ever and I had the absolute pleasure of Rachael and Toms wedding being one of the first of the month! They got married at the beautiful Healey Barn, which is stunning and has my dream surroundings of forests and fields.
We Learnt three big lessons at this wedding:
1 – If big Dazzy Mack says that field looks “Nice”, then that field looks bloody incredible.
2 – If the Best Man says “I wanna make it look like the groom is a fish we caught” go with it.
3 – If you buy a games console out of the wedding fund, don’t tell the Best Man.
Rachael and Tom got married on August 7th, and it just so happens to be exactly a month before Rachaels birthday, so Tom can’t forget the date now!
Healey Barn was the first venue Rachael and Tom looked at for their wedding and knew straight away it was perfect, they didn’t need to look anywhere else. I think this was one of the most emotional weddings I have photographed, everyone was in tears at some point!
These guys even brought wellies, so when we went for pictures, we had a right little adventure!
From Healey Barn:
“There are two large spaces at Healey Barn; the beautiful barn itself and the huge oak dining room which runs off it. At the end of the dining room is the fully stocked copper bar serving cocktails, spirits, pulled pints and a seriously good wine list. We do Winter Weddings with the huge fire blazing and the barn lit by a hundred church candles and we do Summer Weddings which spill into the courtyard or onto the lawn.”
“We felt the rustic look went well with the decor of the venue. Tom loves comic books so there were hints of this in his socks and cufflinks. I love pastel colours and couldn’t decide on one so had 4 different coloured bridesmaid dresses!”
The Wedding Photos (Thats My Bit!)
I can’t really big myself up here, even though I do love to, so here is their response when I asked how they felt about their pictures, and if they had advice for future brides and grooms.
“We both felt really comfortable and that the photos really reflected our amazing day. The camera wasn’t in our face and sort of disappeared into the background….in a good way!
Advice – make a list of photos you want so you dont miss any! And leave enough time for family friends shots. Also choose an amazing photographer like Daz Mack ;)”
I didn’t even tell them to write that last bit!
I asked Rachael and Tom what their favourite part of the day was and they didn’t pick one thing but all of it! Especially the food at the wedding reception (and the Smores)
“Every part was special! From walking down the aisle with my Gran (crying my eyes out ha ha) to saying our vows, to being actually married!”
Rachael says a top tip for future brides and grooms is that you can never be too organised. You should also make the day yours by adding your own style and doing things the way you want to do them.
