How to photograph food with only one light

Hiya! In this weeks video i’m going to be talking all about how I photograph food with only one light setup. I recently upgraded to the Godox TT685 system with the X-Pro trigger and I absolutely love it!

This is a setup I take to commercial food photography jobs, as its so simple and also so portable, it literally all fits into one bag.

Remember, you don’t always have to use a flash and a soft box to light your images, you can also use continuous light, or simply use natural light by setting the food near a large window and use that natural light in your favour!

I’ll be running through three different setups and placements of my light, plus the different things ill do on a photoshoot to mix up the images I deliver, so they don’t always look the same!

One thing I don’t mention in the video is the first thing I do when using a portable flash gun like the Godox, is turn the power down! The main reason for this is to save batteries while out on location, and if i need to brighten the picture, I’ll just use the ISO to bring in a bit more light!

I really hope you enjoy this, and i’m going to be uploading some more commercial photography videos soon!

I hope you enjoy the video! If you have any questions, ask away in the comments!
